The Conference Organising Committee of the Australasian Society for the Study of Intellectual Disability (ASSID) with the support of the Department of Human Services and the Division of Disability Studies, RMIT University, are pleased to announce the 4th Disability Support Worker Conference.

This conference recognizes and celebrates the important role that Disability Support Workers play in the lives of people with disabilities. The Disability Support Worker conference also acknowledges that Disability Support Workers have a right and a need for professional and personal development. The conference is organized for, and maintains a particular focus on, the needs and perspectives of disability workers.

The previous three Disability Support Worker Conferences were held at the University of Melbourne with over 300 participants attending from all sectors of the disability field. With international keynote speakers and workshops presented by leaders in their field, past participants found the conference provided a great opportunity to learn about best practice and to meet support workers from many different organizations.

Previous delegates have come from government and non-government services that provide support to people with different types of disabilities. This year, delegates the will have the opportunity to participate in a range of workshops, hear the latest information, share innovations and network with their colleagues in a friendly, inspiring and challenging environment.
