RMIT Web Review - Assessment

RMIT Admissions http://www.rmit.edu.au/departments/ops/index.html

This screen has been assessed according to a working set of criteria available [on-line} at:

http://www.cinemedia.net/FOD/DuckDigital/criteria.html

Heuristic overview

Relationship between this screen and RMIT home has been largley ignored. Accessibility problems arise form having a banner dominated screen pushing deeper level links to the bottom:
  1. From RMIT Home we arrive from a link to `admissions' to the `office for prospective students'.
  2. Most of the screen space is occupied by a banner with a phone number in a colour similar to its background and therefore hard to read.
  3. Content is only available at a deeper level.
  4. This screen claims to be a first point of contact for prospective students yet few contact options are provided. The screen invites students to visit the office but does not provide a location or an address.
