While her parents looked on enjoying the cool of evening, this little girl amused herself playing above the floodlights at the base of a rather tawdry hero's monument in concrete at the centre of Kota Bharu, North East Malaysia.
Night creates another opportunous world of possibilities for the photographer. I always use available light and can rarely be bothered with a tripod which constricts the chance of spontaneous shots. Consequently I hold my breath steady my hands and hope for the best using shutter speeds of 1/15 and sometimes even a 1/4 of a second.
