Founded in 1999, ROCS is a choir funded by RMIT Link Arts to increase the musical opportunities for RMIT students on campus. The choir rehearses and performs throughout the year, holding a major concert in each semester. ROCS performs a wide variety of music, and focuses on developing the skills of its members. ROCS is a non-auditioned choir, and you do not have to be an RMIT student to sing with us. All you need is a love of music, a willingness to learn, and the dedication to attend a regular (once-weekly) rehearsal schedule.
Interested in joining the choir? Just come along on Thursdays 6:30pm-8:30pm in building 57, level 4, room 1 (map) to try it out. Sign up to RMIT Music on-line and pay your membership fee at a rehearsal to officially join the choir.
ROCS will be performing Gilbert and Sullivan's Princess Ida on Thursday 23rd May and Friday 24th May. Rehearsals for this commence on Thursday 7th March at 6:30pm. In October 2013 ROCS will perform the submissions to the 2013 ROCS Occasional Choral Composition Competition.
ROCS occasionally holds a choral composition competition, open to choristers in the Australian Intervarsity Choral (AICSA) community. The deadline for entries is Wednesday 22nd May, 2013. Entry form and details.
