The Department of
Visual Communication

The Department is a complex and growing centre of teaching and research. In response to the immense changes we are witnessing in communication technologies the Department embraces many disciplines, employing a diverse range of skills and innovative practices. By recently embracing the disciplines of new media and animation, RMIT has acknowledged the importance of research in this area. Over the last decade the whole field of communications has undergone profound and permanent redefinition. The University has played a leading role in those changes.

There are six areas within the Department that offer Arts and Applied Science higher degrees. A non-award teaching unit provides high quality short courses which draw upon the scholastic richness of the Department.
