Good design sense, animation skills, an understanding of the powerful communication tools inherent in the cinematic arts, computer literacy, the ability to conceive and author engaging interactive works and to manage a major time-based work is a potent combination of skills that is much in demand in the rapidly growing 'new media' and information technology industries

The course has an excellent employment track record of enabling graduating students to move directly into high-end professional production in the industry of their choice. Students of this course have won international recognition for their innovative work. Some have become successful leaders of the local industry producing animated TV commercials, children's television programs, video games, interactives and museum displays.

The calibre of past and present students of the centre is also evidenced by their success in gaining competitive grants for personal and professional projects. Since 1995, the value of these grants totals around $1,650,000.
