| Countless
accolades are bestowed upon the riverside city of Mildura... 'oasis of
the Mallee'... 'sunraysia country'... 'close to Gol Gol'... and many more.
What you, the intrepid AUC participant, will discover is an exciting country town, built on the holiday ideals of sunshine, swimming, skiing, and sinking extraordinary quantities of 'refreshments'. |

This year's tournament will be held at the Mildura Water Ski Club site (see pics), perched on the banks of the river close to town, with plenty of shade and a fully-equipped clubhouse serving drinks and snacks on site. Wineries, golf courses, great shopping and loads of cafes (including the dubiously named Scrubba's) provide ample distraction for those who want a little variety. Waterslides, go-karting and Australia's big rival to Disneyland, Orange World, are all nearby. Situated in north-west Victoria, Mildura is accessible by train, plane and bus. Its approximately a 4 hour drive from Adelaide, 5.5 hours from Melbourne, and from Sydney or Newcastle, well, if you psyche yourself up for a drive to Perth, it's really not going to seem far at all to Mildura. The Mildura Water Ski Club so far has been absolutely outstanding in catering to all our organisational needs, and I can confidently predict that we'll be treated to one of the best AUCs in history. Ski you there.

Getting to the site... The Mildura Ski Club site is on River Boulevard, at the north end of Etiwanda Ave which is just east of the centre of town. The map below should give you enough detail to find the site. If you have any trouble finding us, just ask a friendly local to point the way. |
