Advanced / Competition
Lessons:
First Sunday of each month beginning in April,
we will be running advanced lessons with competitions in mind. Greg Hogan
who has judged at the Rip Curl Bell's Comp and everyone from grommets up
to people like Simon McShane (3rd place in Quicksilver Open GP in November
'98) and Glyndon Ringrose (#16 WQS & just outside the top 45 in the
WCT). Simon and Glyndon will help out if they are around, giving expert
advice on competition tactics.
We had an off the cuff lesson late '98 and with everyone that participated saying how much they've learned from just one session, we decided to make a regular thing of it this year.
Also have a look here.
Q.What
sort of standard do you have to be at to come along?
A.
Well as long as you can do bottom turns and are starting to play around
with some fancy or not so fancy tricks - You're in! Send us an E-Mail
or call someone and we'll let you know when
and where to show up.
| SUSA
- Warnambool:
Hosted by Deakin Warnambool, this is the prelude to the Intervarsity Games. The Southern Universities Sporting Association Surfing Competition covers universities and TAFE's across Victoria and Tasmania and lasts three days. For a brief summary of the results of this and other past competitions check the Competitions Page. Both men and women are invited to join in the shortboard, longboard, shortboard tag-team, bodyboard, and kneeboarding events held across the three day weekend. When more information becomes available it will be posted here. |
Intervarsity
Games:
IV Surfing covers all students both full and part time that are enrolled in any TAFE or University/College/Institute across Australia. IV Surfing was not held in 1998 due to lack of interest, but was held in Maroochydore on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland in early December 1997. As with SUSA both men and women shortboard, longboard, shortboard tag-team, bodyboard, and kneeboarding events are held across three to four days. |
