    		•  Welcome to the 1999 edition! Plenty of parties, surfing, and comps are in store for this year. Whether you're new to RMIT, new to surfing, an old hack or a total gun we've got something for you. Even if you don't really want to surf, you can still have tons of fun without getting wet.

    We have beginner lessons most trips, taught by experienced and qualified instructors and advanced lessons on the first Sunday of every month.

    Not breaking with tradition passed down through many a pot glass, we have plenty of fun lined up for this year.
    Don't forget to come down and have a beer or five with us at the Oxford Scholar (Swanston Street - opposite RMIT in the City). We hold a weekly meeting every Friday from 6:00pm onwards.

    SURF TRIP:8-11 July
    Come to where it is warm... well a little warmer... ok, maybe it won't be that warm - that's because it's WINTER and you're in Victoria. At least it will be warm in your tent and at the pub, but that's what wetsuits were invented for! Come dive in for a holiday retreat to the beach. Surfing and have a good time for a few days to let all those exam worries disappear.

    People interested in going MUST email us or call someone who cares before 10th of June if you are interested. 

    $30 for the whole trip, or cheaper for less days.

    There will be people going down just for the weekend, just for a few days and a few hardy ones that will go the for whole trip.

    We leave Sat evening to get an early start and come back Sunday evening. Accom. is in a house in Cowes. Lessons are $7 for members.

    COMPETITIONS: Comps Page
    Over the past few years, RMIT's done ok in competitions against other Aussie Uni's. This year we are set to change this trend. Starting off with Advanced Lessons once a month with mock competitions against locals, we are aiming to become a more of a threat to Deakin Geelong's dominance.

    At the moment, competitions are looking like they will be held in Queensland over the first two weeks of December. 

    Competition experience is not necessary, and you do not need to be able to surf like Occy either. As long as you can pull off turns and maybe the odd cutback, you're set! We'll teach you the rest.

    AUS-SOUTH (SUSA): Warnambool is the setting for the preliminaries for the Intervarsity Surfing Comp. This comp is held over Easter holidays against Victorian and Tassie Uni's with Deakin Warnambool hosting.

    INTERVARSITY: As mentioned above, IV will be held mid to late this year. To pull this off, we need lots of keen guys and girls to compete for RMIT.
